What's New This Year?
New for 2010 at Camp Chaverim ...
- Third graders will experience even more of Camp Hoover! Third graders will travel to camp Hoover frequently throughout the summer to experience even more of the high ropes course, boating, and all camp Hoover has to offer!
- New Specialty Camps! In 2010, the JCC Summer Camps will introduce new specialty camps! They will include Just Dance!, Legos, and YogART - a combination of Yoga and Art!
- Community Service will play a central role at camp this summer. Camp Chaverim campers will venture across the street each week to participate in community service projects with the residents at Wexner Heritage Village. There will also be an entire week devoted to tikkun olam (repairing the world) where campers will learn that giving back to the community is both important and FUN!
- Revamped Shabbat programming! Each week, a different unit will be assigned to Shabbat preparation. The unit will create and perform a special Shabbat skit and song, as well as decorate the pavilion where campers will have a camp-wide Shabbat lunch.
